This peer support group is a long-term interpersonal process group. The goal is to provide space for female-identifying people to bring their struggles to the group and process their feelings with one another.

The intention of the group is to create a trusting and safe environment, where clients feel empowered and gain the confidence to tackle whatever they may face at any given moment in their lives with peer support.

  • + Connecting with other women who deal with similar struggles
+ Working through your feelings around a variety of topics and subjects
+ Learning better ways of communicating and relating to others
+ Feeling empowered and empowering others

  • The group meets weekly on Thursday evenings from 6-7:30pm

  • The group meets in Brooklyn Heights, the address will be sent after registering

  • You needn’t be in individual therapy to attend, though we encourage group members to participate in individual therapy in tandem with the group. Individual therapy can help you explore and unpack what triggers you during group sessions. If you already have a therapist, the group facilitator may ask to collaborate with your individual therapist to best support you and your needs.

  • Before beginning, you will need to compete at brief intake with the group facilitator just to be sure you’re a fit, this should last no more than 30 minutes

  • $65 per session or $225/4 sessions

We are an out of network provider. However much like individual therapy group therapy can be reimbursable for out of network benefits.

  • While the topics will be generated by participants, and the majority of feedback will be from group members, to ensure effective communications and appropriateness, the group will be moderated by Lanya Snyder, LMSW

  • A process group heavily depends on the presence of the members and their relationship with one another. Therefore, weekly and consistent attendance is a requirement for this group. Due to the interpersonal nature of the group and importance of the relationship between the group members, this group will be a long-term group with a six month commitment.
